1 CHALLENGE. 1 DEADLINE. UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES.

IS YOUR TEAM LOOKING FOR A FLEXIBLE OR VIRTUAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE?
The Digital Open is a virtual challenge designed for teams that want or need a flexible learning experience—in person, virtual, or hybrid. Each year, we create a unique challenge that requires a digital solution. Solutions are appraised and teams are ranked in this one-of-a-kind global competition.
For the teams unable to meet in person or for the teams just looking for a new way to do DI, the 2021 Digital Open is here!
SEVEN Weeks to Solve!
Registered teams will receive the Challenge on September 15. Then, they will have just under seven weeks to innovate their way towards a digital video solution that is uniquely their own!
See below for the complete schedule!
Top the Digital Charts
All teams that submit solutions will be scored and ranked. Winners will be announced in December 2022 during an epic Awards Ceremony. Teams will even get to view each other’s solutions inside our Digital Open Virtual Showcase.
Truly OPEN to Everyone! Best of all, it’s open to students anywhere in the world and team members do not have to be in the same location. So grab your friends, no matter where they are, and get ready to make some digital magic in the Digital Open.
And in case you’re wondering – YES, you may participate in both the Digital Open AND in the traditional, in-person Challenge Experience.
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
What happens when a story is told out of order? Will it be chaos or will the pieces come together in the end? A big reveal will help you untangle the tale in this season’s Digital Challenge!
For this Challenge your team will:
- Create and present a Video Presentation that tells a scrambled story.
- Include a big reveal in the Video Presentation.
- Use a reverse motion scene to enhance the Video Presentation.
- Use a reflection effect to enhance the Video Presentation.
- Create and present one Team Choice Element that shows off the team’s interests, skills, areas of strength, and talents.
COMPETITION LEVELS
The Digital Open is open to teams competing at the Elementary, Middle, and Secondary.
Teams may consist of 2-7 members, just like with our in-person Challenge Experience!
