How do I enroll my Child in DI?
DI relies on volunteers to establish teams within our district. The DI Program is run through Chippewa Valley Community Education, Coordinated by a Coordinator who assists in the formation of teams and managed by volunteers who manage teams. DI works differently than most after-school programs since parents and teachers are needed to recruit team members and volunteer to manage a team.
All students are able to participate in DI whether they are in the district or not. They just need 4-7 students and a Team Manager! There are no try-outs, no ability requirements, just the desire to work with your team and solve challenges.
Enrollment for the 2018/19 is open.
How much Time does DI Take?
The DI season begins on September 1, with the release of that season’s challenges, and ends with the Regional Tournament in the spring. Teams start in the fall. Meetings usually are held once a week at a school or Team Members home and last 1-3 hours. The time requirement may vary by age, challenge chosen, and the competitive ambitions of the team.
Teams placing at their Regional Tournament will advance to the Affiliate Tournament in April and teams placing at State will advance to Global Finals at the end of May.
